“I mean look at this thing, I can’t imagine a more beautiful thing. It’s corn!” - Corn Kid from that viral video (2022)

I didn’t get it yet then,
and I won’t get it yet then, now.

May I offer you confused folks some beans?

delicious, nutritious, perfectly great beans

I love beans, but corn is corn. You cannot make bean’s tortillas, or… not that I am aware of. Bread, sweet beverages, etc. Corn is so versatile. If I have to pick (luckily I don’t in real life), I’d pick corn.

Corn is wonderful and versatile but at the end of the day my true love is pulses. They can go in everything, they’re nutritious as all hell, and they’re just plain tasty. Bean tacos, bean burgers, falafel, hummus…

If you wash them you can make bean pie

I’m sure there’s a way to process beans into a flour that could be made into tortillas.

Potatoes are far better than corn. Potatoes heal the soil as well as the soul. Potatoes make us whole. Potatoes are superior to corn and beans.

Potatoes are easy to grow, they self-propagate, and they’re both nutritious and tasty. Corn is okay, but nothing compared to potatoes.

Corn didn’t wreck us when we couldn’t grow it. Potatoes did. We cannot live without potatoes. Potatoes are life.

i also worship potato 🥔

Beans also heal the soil and the soul. And the correct answer is beans with potatoes. Falafel and greek style fries is easily a top tier meal

Dawg. Me and boys are just here for the beans.

Potatos are very destructive to the soil.

They have to be dug up (lots of cultivation). This breaks up the soil structure causing all sorts of issues with porosity, nutrient and organic material loss.

Because of the diseases and pest that attack the growing tubers, growers use fumigants/biofumigants. These are indescriminate killers that wipe out all sorts of insects, fungi, nematodes, and bacteria.

Potatoes leave very little organic residue behind when the tubers are harvested.

Any crop that follows potatoes suffers from a “yield drag” for 2-3 years as the soil recovers.

Out of the all starchy foods we eat, potatoes and sweet potatoes are the worst for the soil.

Potatoes are just overgrown beans. They grew so big they lost most of that healthy bean fiber.

My local brothel serves eggs bonerdicked for breakfast on Sundays before church and I’ve been requesting corn for months now but they never put it on the menu, it’s distressing

I love this sentence.

Had to back and read it to catch the masterpiece that is “eggs bonerdicked”

I don’t understand the corn meme whatsoever, but that looks fuggin’ delicious.

Too much usa-centric politics -> corn as a protest

Yeah this community is used by some people as a generic dumping ground for US political images - meme or not. I’m not even American but I’m fine keeping up with the political shit show that is the USA right now but ffs a screencap of some American politician’s Twitter post is NOT a shitpost.

Is nothing sacred anymore? I really wish the mods would start removing posts because the cornposting isn’t working

We’re channeling Khrushchev

I have a corn addiction.

Hardcore or soft core corn?

Hardcorn or softcorn.

I’ll take both, intermixed. That way you get crunchy bits that create more crunchy bits.

What’s your opinion on creamed corn?

Like the pocket tots, you’ll always wish you had more in that pocket.

Delicious.

Peaches and cream, obviously

Can I respectfully say I was freaked out when my college girlfriend had a stick of butter in the fridge that they pulled out and then passed around so each participant could roll their cob on it to butter it? Effective? Yes. Absurd? Definitely.

From this distant vantage point, the Earth might not seem of any particular interest. But for us, it’s different. Consider again that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it every corn you love, every corn you know, every corn you ever heard of, every cultivar that ever was, lived out its life. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident recipes, listicles, and culinary doctrines, every shopper and forager, every binger and dieter, every planter and harvester of fields, every succotash and popcorn, every monoecious couple in love, every pistil and stamen, hopeful seedling, barbecuer and chef, every eater of cornmeal, every corrupt subsidy, every cob and kernel in the history of our tummies lived there—on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

What’s with this corny post?

The thing people can’t digest?

God damn, that looks delicious

why is there corn in my shit?

My fiance is sleeping to corn and corn byproducts, and I don’t like corn enough to care, so I’ll take eclairs instead.

Not enough butter. And where is the Lowry’s?
